Lee Abel: Community First

Lee Abel for Penticton Council

I am committed to building a Penticton that prioritizes resident feedback and functional representation for all. My objective is to strengthen support for marginalized groups and our seniors, by instituting professional policies of inclusion and accessibility. Ensuring that our community's unique stories are heard and valued in every council decision.

Community Safety

Prioritizing community safety means taking a comprehensive approach: supporting law enforcement to address local crime while aggressively advancing wildfire prevention and disaster response. Keeping first responders safe and equipped.

Safeguard measures must match the real-world challenges facing neighborhoods and local environments

Sports & Tourism

Promoting Penticton as a premier destination for sports and tourism remains one of my top priority's. Investing in local facilities and supporting key events helps boost the economy while creating outstanding recreational opportunities for every resident. Penticton was recently voted one of the top 5 places in the world to visit. Lets show the world how great we really are!

Arts, Culture & Wine

Championing our thriving arts scene and renowned wineries starts with honoring the culture that built this region. Guided by proven volunteer leadership, Penticton can uplift local farmers and artisans to keep our creative and agricultural roots strong.

Marginalized Equity

Penticton citizens deserve a strong voice in government, especially for our seniors and marginalized communities. Backed by years of regional advocacy and media experience, My leadership brings deep compassion and proven dedication to representing our community

Economic Oversight

In recent years, we’ve watched candidates campaign on 'fiscal restraint', only to abandon their seats mid-term for provincial and federal promotions. Those resignations didn't just leave our table short-handed; they handed local taxpayers a bill for around $160,000 in extra, unexpected by-elections. That isn't fiscal restraint; that’s using local council as a stepping stone at the taxpayers' expense.

You know lately something has been weighing on me,

Municipal politics is not partisan.

This City municipal election is being muddled by a snap election that no one asked for at a time no one wanted.

What are my politics? Ask me! E-mail me.

Are some candidates using A.I too much? Not enough? Well for myself MY business is In technology. I use every new tool at my disposal.

Do I use it too much? Do I think it should be highly regulated? Do we need strict government oversite? Well ask ME. ( we do by the way and it should be very strict!).

Do I support the unions and front line workers? Ask me! (damn Right I Do every time).

Do I support small business and the city core? Ask me! (I am small business and city core.)

Do I support protecting citizen owned land? Well, where have you been this entire election? Do some actual research or again…. ask me.

Do I support people who have chosen to work for the public good, taking time away from their family’s just to be attacked anonymously on a social media platform? Damn right I do. If you want to know who? Ask ME!

Do I support former public servants who have let the public trust lapse or let the public down? Well I guess that depends on how far they let the public pay for their mistakes.

Did they commit a crime? Did they destabilize public infrastructure and then walk away to let it be fixed by a broken city council? Did they sell off public trust and then ask you to vote them in again so they could do it again? Did they just not have enough time to learn the Job? I guess you will have to ask me that too.

If you ask me “what are my colours in politics” I will have zero problem telling you. I vote for people and Ideals NOT party colours.

I vote for humans, and solutions not party rhetoric.

I vote for the strong people willing to stand for humans and not just SAY they stand for humans and fly away at a moments notice to one side of the aisle or the other.

I vote for real values in people I work with, and see working for the community not some dogma they claim to have and then never quite practice it.

You want to know my Colours?

They Are A SOLID RED and WHITE with a huge maple leaf in the middle and all I’m asking you to do IS ASK me AND VOTE.

Vote Saturday October 17, 2026 as if your life depended on it. Because quite literally IT DOES! Ask me.

Advocating for All

I am dedicated to a Penticton where our revered seniors and marginalized neighbors thrive side-by-side. Together, we will nurture a culture of community care that honors every unique lived experience and treats every person with deep dignity.
